Dr. Kay Metzgar, DVM

Medical Director

Kay is from Bettendorf, Iowa. She attended Iowa State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology in 1995 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She's worked in small animal practices in Colorado for many years, but returned to the Quad Cities in 2012 to be closer to her mother. She's married to an amazing man (Jason), has two incredible daughters (Aria and Aeva) and eight wonderful four-legged children.

Cats: Clark (Griswald), Eli (aka Mr. Pants), Norman, Walter (Peyton Manning)

In her free time Kay enjoys working out and baking.

Veterinary Technician

Katie is a registered veterinary technician and takes special interest in surgery, anesthesia, and behavior. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology from Southern Illinois University and an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Muscatine Community College. She is Fear Free Certified, as well as a certified Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional. She enjoys working with all animals and some of her favorite patients include senior and fearful pets. She lives in Davenport with her husband and four cats. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

Jasynda

Veterinary Technician

Jasynda grew up in Davenport. She decided to make a career change to veterinary medicine after experiencing an emergency with one of her dogs. She graduated from Muscatine Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2022. She was at Precious Paws for her internship, and following graduation sought to return. She loves all aspects of her job and is excited to continue to grow her skills and knowledge. Jasynda loves listening to true crime stories, cooking/baking with her family, and watching her young daughter grow up. Jasynda’s fur babies include 3 small dogs: Pika, Boujee, and Toby.

Linda grew up in Cambridge, Illinois and now resides in Rock Island. She has been in the veterinary field for 8+ years, where she has been both a vet assistant and technician. She is very passionate about animals. In her free time, Linda enjoys staying close to home, baking, and watching Dancing with the Stars

Rylyn was born, raised, and currently resides (with her husband Mayson) in the small town of Princeton, Iowa. She received a Liberal Arts degree from Scott Community College in 2019 and a Bachelors in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2021. In her freetime she enjoys walking her dogs (Tito and Charlie), watching TV with her cat (Gerti), and cheering for the Green Bay Packers, Iowa State Cyclones, and St. Louis Cardinals.

Nancy grew up in Bettendorf and attended Pleasant Valley High School and the University of Northern Iowa. She has spent 13 years working with animals ranging from horses to small animals. Currently her family includes 2 horses, 2 pot bellied pigs, 4 cats, and 2 dogs. In her spare time Nancy enjoys horseback riding and a variety of outdoor activities

Emily grew up in Burlington Iowa and attended Mediapolis High School and AIB College of Business in Des Moines. She has spent 6+ years in rescue, helping feral and stray cats, dogs, and many other small animals and critters but has always had a passion for animals. Currently she has several cats that have been rescued from the streets. In her spare time, Emily enjoys photography, volunteering with rescue cases, and enjoying nature.
